November 16th-25th We will read fiction and non-fiction books that explore the story of the first Thanksgiving. We will identify and discuss what it means to give thanks and we will identify people and things that we are thankful for.
We will continue to read fiction books and we will practice retelling stories by identifying the beginning, middle, and end. We will also be discussing the characters, setting, problem, and solution in stories.
In writing, we will explore ways to make a list and possible uses for writing a list. Encourage your child to make a “To Do” list at home. We will continue to use interactive writing to help us stretch out sounds in words and write down the sounds we hear.
In math, we will work on unit two which covers on counting and place value. In unit 2, we will identify numbers from 0-31, explore each numeral's value using one-to-one correspondance, identify more than and less than, and explore and explain odd/even numbers.
* HOMEWORK *
Homework will be sent home on Monday each week. Please have your child complete the two activities (one on Monday and one on Wednesday). Please return homework assignments on Thursdays.

This week we will spell, read, and write the word “said” and the word "my". We will then add them to our word wall. Please practice these WWW at home. Your child should be able to read and write each of these words.
